Rules (General)

Our membership runs from July 1st to June 30th the following year. There are four categories of membership - single adult, junior, couple (2 Adults) and family (2 Adults + 2 Juniors).

Breckland Carriage Driving Club takes matters of safeguarding young and vulnerable people seriously. Parents, Guardians and Carers are responsible for ensuring young and vulnerable people are kept safe at events. Young children must not be left unaccompanied whilst at an event (e.g. left in a horsebox alone). Any issues relating to the welfare of young and vulnerable people (including bullying) should be reported to the club Safeguarding Officer.

Every driver attending club events must have third-party public liability insurance to cover them for carriage driving events. Membership of the Breckland Carriage Driving Club Limited includes third-party public liability insurance.

Members of British Carriagedriving and British Horse Society (Gold) is accepted at our events on provision of a copy of the membership card with entry.

Members of the British Driving Society may compete at our events but restrictions apply to some competitions. Drivers should seek advice from the BDS if they are not sure if they are covered.

From January 2018, the third-party public liability insurance provided by a British Carriagedriving affiliated club covers members to compete at other BC affiliated club events.
